The Cover: 3/10—I really hate the cover of this book so I redid it!
It’s not prefect but it makes me feel better.
Writing: 9/10 — It was okay
Heroine: 9/10— I’m harsh on heroines but I didn’t mind Emma
Romance: 9.5/10 —
Sexiness: 8.5/10 —
Over All Story 9.5/10— It’s a toe curling type of story
I finally know what this story reminds me of… A Nickolas Sparks Movie/ Novel, now for some (sometimes me) that maybe an insult…I don’t hate Nick but I do think all of his books are the same.
I mean really…
HOWEVER Push was able to do something magical, refreshing and new! Emma is just feisty and I love it
“Someday I will have to meet these gentlemen….It’s a rare breed that is willing to jack off to a box on tampons. They sound like people I might like.”
David, her new neighbor, comes over to fix her cabinets. He’s charming and kind and calm… he makes Emma feel safe…oh yeasix that’s right six of his ex-girlfriends have all disappeared!
As a reader I had no clue what the hell to do with that! The from when I first met David I liked him! So through out the story I found myself panicking? Was I now in love with a girlfriend-murdering psychopath? Did he really murder them or are they all under his house working as slaves? With each page I held on the smallest hope that maybe just maybe it was just consequence. How could sweet David, who was covered in tattoos of birds, with short messy hair, and stable personality (meaning he wasn’t one of those “Oh stay away from me but I love you” blah blah blah,) be a monster!
BUT COME ON SIX? How does that happen? He had to behind it right?
Seriously I spent half of the time yelling at my book. Half of the time I would yell “He’s a murder!” then the next I would be “He’s so good!” A book should not bring out this many emotions in a person without prescribing meds!
If this review is all over the damn place I’m sorry I just don’t know what to do with myself!
Let’s Get to Emma and David.
Have you ever just seen/ read a couple and just knew it was right?
“Either he can play his little game and say something that is going to send me over the edge, or he can say something that pulls me back from the brink.”
“”I guess we are pretty great together. For a couple of fucked-up creeps, anyway.”
That was Emma and David for me. Their chemistry would make Aphrodite lose her mind. The banter! Oh the Banter!
“Yes. Not interested in your porn either. Not without you anyway.”
“I’ll be home in twenty.”
They are the couple (minus the baggage) I want to be/have. Everything they texted each other I grinned like I was getting a text from my own book boyfriend!
So why 4.5? Why not give it 5 stars?
TWO BIG REASONS
1st. WTF with the cliffhanger man! I didn’t realize this wasn’t a stand-alone until the end! The whole book I had been waiting for answers and then I flip the page only to see “To Be Continued”. The rage in my eyes at that moment!
2nd…..I really really really hate the cover!
